Huang et al. [ 9] used sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution to alkali-leach sulfated lead paste and obtained PbO crystals through low-temperature crystallization. The PbO obtained by this process has low purity and contains large amounts of sodium sulfate (Na 2 SO 4) impurities.
There are many acidic leaching–electrowinning processes [13,14,15,16,17]. In the PLACID process, for example, lead chloride is obtained by the reaction of spent lead paste with hydrochloric acid and sodium chloride. After solid–liquid separation, the PbCl2solution is purified and pure lead is obtained by electrowinning.
